The health, social services and regional government reform transfers the organisation of these services to counties as of 1 January 2020. The reform affects the services of every citizen in the country and impacts hundreds of thousands of civil servants and other staff members. It also has an effect on the financial resources, steering and taxation of healthcare and social services. The reform is among the biggest administrative and operational overhauls in Finnish history.

In Central Finland, the Regional Council of Central Finland coordinates the reform. The reform is executed in close cooperation with all regional actors and citizens involved.
